Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau are pleased to announce the line-up for our digital event, ‘Sesiwn Fawr Digi-Dol 2021’.
In a month’s time (Saturday, July 17th 2021), Sesiwn Fawr will stream music, comedy and literary sessionsfor free on our AM channel.
Presented by Angharad Jenkins (Calan) and filmed across a number of Sesiwn Fawr’s unique locations, the broadcast will include some of the Welsh music scene’s most popular artists: Vrï, Glain Rhys, Huw Dylan, Beca, Derw, and I Fight Lions.
In addition to the musical performances, a variety of sessions incorporating Welsh-language literature, comedy and storytelling sessions for children will be shared via the AM platform.
Further information about the festival will be available on the Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau website.
Chair of Sesiwn Fawr’s Committee, Guto Dafydd, said: “The committee were keen to support Wales’ musicians after a difficult year, as well as offering an event for our loyal supporters to enjoy. It was a joy to invite individuals and bands back to Dolgellau once more – not for live gigs for the time being, but to record high-quality live sets for broadcast.
“Though we could not provide the artists with an audience this time, it was clear from the smiles on theirfaces and the energetic sets that they revelled in the opportunity to perform once more. The variety of locations used during filming also reflects the diversity of stages traditionally used during the Sesiwn Fawr, so we hope to attract viewers from far and wide to enjoy Sesiwn Fawr Digi-Dol.”
Sesiwn Fawr’s annual poster is also an integral part of the festival’s history, and many posters from the past are iconic pieces of art. So we are also pleased to announce the poster for Sesiwn Fawr Digi-Dol 2021 was designed by the talented Sioned Medi.
Guto Dafydd adds: “Support the Sesiwn and our artists like any other year, and we look forward to invitingyou all back to Dolgellau in 2022 to celebrate 30 years of Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau.”
