One of the first things many do upon arriving in Dolgellau is to go for a walk around the old narrow streets. With over 230 listed buildings in the old town, Dolgellau is beautiful and truely unique.
Wandering down the old streets, you will see history has left its stamp on the town, from the Quakers to the chapels, the tanning industries to all the gold hidden away under nearby hills.
Dolgellau is located within the Eryri National Park and is used by many as a centre for many outdoor and leisure activities. Within twenty minutes from the town centre, you could be walking on the paths of Cader Idris, rowing on Llyn Tegid, cycling down the Mawddach Trail, fishing on Tal-y-Llyn or escaping to the Cregennan Lakes.
If you have half a chance, it’s worth staying around for a little longer to explore the area properly.
